 We welcome all Kindergarten children!

Kindergarten children at Highland Elementary are happy, productive children. We think our program captures the perfect blend of allowing young children to learn through developmentally appropriate practice of hands on experiences and play, while at the same time ensuring that the children meet the increasingly rigorous demands of academics. Kindergarten children perform mathematics and reading activities within the themes of science and social studies. All subjects are coordinated through centers in which the children participate in activities such as reading, writing, painting, using math manipulatives or conducting science experiments. Our kindergartners experience music, art, physical education, library and technology education. In addition to academic skills, children work on social skills such as sharing with others and problem solving. Kindergarten children develop confidence and a love for school as they move toward independence in their many activities.

Highland kindergarten children are happy and content as they grow and learn through a variety of experiences. Please come by for a visit!
