Our library is a center for student, teacher and parent resources in many formats including books, videos, DVDs, and websites. Daily happenings in the library include classroom read aloud, prepared library usage or research lessons, checking out books, guest speakers and various staff or community meetings.

Highland’s library curriculum consists of a weekly library session that may include teaching research skills in print or online resources, using reference materials, study of literature genres, author studies, and using the Dewey Decimal library classification system to locate books in the library. All classes including preschool have assigned library times, but students may conduct research or investigate library materials at any time with their teacher’s permission.
