Defining "Gifted"

Centennial Academy uses the definition for "gifted" as determined by the Colorado Exceptional Children's Education Act, which is provided in detail on the Littleton Public Schools website. LPS follows an identification process in alignment with Colorado Department of Education rules and guidelines, which involves collecting a body of evidence from both test and non-test sources.

At Centennial, GT services are implemented in a variety of ways, both in and out of the classroom. These programming options include differentiation, cluster grouping, pull-out instruction, subject acceleration and grade acceleration.
