988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline logo links to 988 website

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.

When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.

LPS knows that we are a safer community if we look out for one another. If you have a concern about a member of our community, or if you need help yourself, you can report to any of the organizations listed on the Report a Concern page:

  • LPS Safety and Security 303-347-3420 - a 24/7 number staffed by a live person who can help facilitate interactions with law enforcement or district mental health personnel.
  • Safe2Tell - a completely anonymous report that goes directly to law enforcement, LPS Safety and Security, building administrators, and district administrators.
  • Colorado Crisis Services - a 24/7 statewide hotline for anyone in crisis. Phones are answered by a licensed therapist.
  • 988 - a national suicide prevention hotline, available 24/7.

PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY CONCERNS
In a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1. For other urgent mental health crisis situations, contact Colorado Crisis Services. Their phone hotline and walk-in centers are open 24 hours a day.

CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT
Contact the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services at (303) 636-1750 or call the Colorado Statewide Child Abuse Hotline at 1-844-CO-4-KIDS.

Littleton Public Schools complies with Title IX and the implementing regulations.  Sexual harassment is recognized as a form of sex discrimination and thus a violation of the laws which prohibit sex discrimination. A learning environment that is free from sexual harassment shall be maintained. It shall be a violation of LPS Board Policy for any staff member to sexually harass students or for students to sexually harass other students.

if you believe an individual has been sexually harassed that rises to the level of discrimination in violation of Title IX, please contact the District Title IX Coordinator, Melissa Cooper, mrcooper[at]lps.k12.co[dot]us, or complete the Title IX Complaint Form and submit it to this same email address. Employees that feel they have been sexually harassed should report allegations to Sheri Charles, Assistant Superintentent of Human Resources.

In accordance with LPS Board Policy AC, Nondiscrimination/Equal Opportunity, and its corresponding regulations, no discrimination on the basis of sex is permitted in the programs or activities LPS operates.
